NIO launches its third production model – the EC6

Yesterday at the NIO Day 2019 in Shenzhen, held under the motto „Believe in Better“, the brand launched the EC6 – its first smart electric coupe SUV. With the EC6, NIO is expanding its product portfolio and introduces its third production model after the ES6 and ES8. 

The new model EC6 comes as a coupe body design which drag coefficient is lowered to 0.27Cd. Besides the smart electric coupe SUV features a 2.1 m2 all-glass roof. The EC6 Performance Version will be equipped with a 160kW PM motor and a 240kW induction motor. This will enable the electric car to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds. Further the EC6 will come with the 100kWh liquid-cooled thermostatic battery pack which allows a range of up to 615km (NEDC) in the Performance Version. Prices and specs of the EC6 will be announced in July 2020 and delivery will be expected to begin with in September.
