Renault unveils its concept car MORPHOZ – illustrating its vision of future electric mobility

In its latest electric studies, Renault unveils its concept car MORPHOZ. This futuristic car represents the brands’s vision of personal, shareable electric mobility in the years beyond 2025. It offers a personalised adaptation to the needs, desires and uses of each person. The most striking feature of MORPHOZ is its growth in length. At the push of a button the car grows from 4.40 to 4.80 meters – from a compact car that is ideal for the city to a comfortable car for longer rides. With the 40 kWh battery, the e-vehivles achieves a maximum range of 400 kilometers. Another additional benefit – under the interior of the car are two extra batteries with a total capacity of 50 kWh. Thereby the range of the car can be extended to 700 kilometers. At the same time, the power of the electric motor increases from 100 to 160 kW. This change from 'City' to 'Travel' mode takes place at a special station where the additional batteries are installed fully automatically.
Also the interior of the car is equipped with a special, flexible concept. Everyone sits on individual seats. Besides the front passenger can change the direction of its seat and face towards the rear passengers. So they sit opposite of each other like in a living room. The futuristic steering wheel is equipped with a 10.2-inch display that informs the driver of the most important driving data. Besides there is the option to have additional OLED displays slide from the front cockpit wall at the push of a button on the L-shaped LIVINGSCREEN panel offering the entire arsenal of displays and information over a width of 80 centimeters: from travel information and navigation to on-board entertainment.

The Renault MORPHOZ fulfills level three of autonomous driving. The driver can delegate various tasks to the vehicle but must be at all times ready to take over the direction. In addition to all these technical innovations, the car makes use of artificial intelligence. When the driver approaches the car, various sensors recognises the driver and the car automatically adjusts the settings of the driver – from the seating position to the ambient lighting.
We can’t wait to experience all these features in a few years time.
