The BMW Motorrad Concept 02 – a new interpretation of intelligent, urban single-track mobility for the younger generation

With the Concept CE 02, BMW Motorrad brings a new interpretation of intelligent urban mobility to the track, which is neither a classic motorcycle nor a scooter. The electric concept vehicle with its compact dimensions and youthful proportions, targets at the younger generation. People aged 16 and over, who have not ridden a motorbike yet but are open to new experiences, smart technology and who like to combine mobility with fun. It’s the ideal vehicle for everyone who wants to be independent, flexible in urban environments.

“At first glance, there is little about the BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02 that is typically BMW Motorrad – it’s something completely new. We want to strive for something novel and be pioneers – which is what we’ve proven ourselves capable of with various projects in the past.” – Edgar Heinrich, Head of Design BMW Motorrad

The design combines a minimalistic yet bold approach – simply it’s completely different. A skateboard is being used as footrests, the LED lightning is quite prominent. The two large-size wheels are designed as disc wheels, promising power and driving pleasure. The dark areas for the two battery packs and the silver drive ensure a compact case. The long, narrow seat and frame complete the distinctive silhouette. Besides the space between the seat and the frame offers room for small luggage. The characteristic proportions of the BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02 not only allow for an extremely agile ride but are also meant to encourage non-motorcyclists to get on and have a try.

The BMW Motorrad Concept CE 02 gives an output of 11 kW for driving licence class from A1 (ECE) and a range of 90 km (according to WMTC). Its seat height is 730 mm and the disc wheels come with 15-inch front and rear. Due to its weight of only 120kg, the vehicle is perfect for urban use.
