In 2009, the Carlier brothers founded the brand VanMoof in Amsterdam with the vision to offer the perfect city bike - fast, smart and stylish. With their background as product designer, they created a completely new concept of urban e-bikes by passing on superfluous parts, designing it classic and timeless and by integrating the latest technology. The Electrified S was the first intelligent digitally connected e-bike on the market. Since its launch in 2009, VanMoof has always impressed and changed the international bicycle industry with fast innovations and unique solutions.
The company has set itself the goal of meeting the current global requirements. VanMoof became known in the metropolises of the world. In addition to their online business, VanMoof now operates stores across the globe from Tokyo, New York to Berlin. The electrified models have theft protection and an invisible lock, driver identification and many other features. In addition to the Electrified models X2 and S2, the brand offers the Smart series. The smart models react to you. The app connects you and your bike, e.g. you can see where you parked your bike or you can individually set the sound and lighting preferences of your bike.
Thanks to the design, the Smart models S and X are practically maintenance-free. If an error does occur, the free repair service can be used in all VanMoof stores. Besides if the bike is stolen, the service of the Bike Hunters is there for you. The Bike Hunters will take care that your stolen bike is found and will bring it back to you. In case it can’t be found you will get a new bike.
The bikes of VanMoof can be customised, i.e. colour, gear box, luggage rack, child seat and much more can be tailored to your personal preferences.
The company has already received various awards for their work on the perfect city bike including the Wallpaper Design Award, innovation by design 2017 and the Red Dot Design Award.
In addition VanMoof is the first bicycle company to radically revise its business model to reach a wider range of buyers. VanMoof offers monthly subscriptions for the Electrified and Smart models. You can take full advantage and ride your bike as long or short as you want. It starts from EUR 25 per month for example for the Smart S bike.
